My Honduras Vacay

I recently traveled to Honduras on a cruise I found it was a small quaint island that I fell in love with, ISLA ROATÁN. This was a new destination for me, so I wanted to explore on my own instead of booking excursions through the cruise line.
While taking a long walk down the long scenic road from the cruise ship I begin to see the beautiful white sand private beaches. This was so breathtaking! Since I always look for bargains, I hired a private taxi for a tour of the island. To my surprise, he was very knowledgeable and friendly.
He took me to places where the locals shopped and hung out. I found many deals on local crafts.
I wanted to get up close and personal to local wildlife, so we stopped by a local park that had macaws and monkeys of course among many others. I thought touching them was a unique experience.
What was really scary was the fact that the island does not use traffic lights. I’m glad that my driver was cautious and knew the roads.
As with anywhere, you are unfamiliar with, exercise caution. However, I had fun and enjoyed myself! I didn’t worry much about safety. I never felt threatened even walking the streets. Everyone was friendly and I was not afraid to haggle with the vendors.
This quaint little island town is jam-packed with tourists and locals alike. I found them all relaxing and enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

Cruising is amazing. thanks for sharing.
It is indeed. I had already booked a cruise for 2020 and 2021. Lol…. and along came COVID-19
